4 Simple Tips to Be Fearless NOW

Less face it – widowhood is not for the faint of heart. It takes gumption to pick up the pieces, brush yourself off and get the ball rolling again.  Have you ever looked around and felt like so many people around you are fearless? Like every time something new or challenging comes their way they just face it and jump in with two feet. It may seem like that, but in reality not everyone is fearless all of the time. Life throws new and scary things at us. Sometimes we’re caught off guard. Sometimes no matter how well we prepare, we’re still challenged and a bit afraid. It’s OK. All of us are human, just trying to figure out this little thing we call life. But, wouldn’t it be great to be a little more fearless? To take on new situations with a feeling of confidence and simply be ready-to-go? With a little work and a bit of prep, you do have the power to turn fear into a powerful energy that’s a force to be reckoned with. Whether you’re facing something new or you have a tough road ahead, here’s a look at how to be a little more fearless NOW with these tips:

4 Simple Tips To Be Fearless Now

1.Make yourself hyper aware of the situation. Let’s say you’re starting a new job tomorrow – and you’re afraid! Afraid of not knowing where to park, afraid of meeting so many new people, afraid the job will be too challenging – whatever it is….be sure to ask as many questions as you need to ahead of time. That’s completely valid – “Hey, where do I park?” or “Do we have a schedule for day 1?” Preparing yourself as best you can will help you walk in the door confident and ready to go.

2.Take the opposite approach….go in knowing nothing. Sometimes, especially when it comes to fear, ignorance is bliss – and, that is totally OK. Let’s say you’re starting a new exercise program at the gym and you’re petrified of day one…don’t think about it, at all. Just wake up that day, have your coffee, put your gym clothes on…and go. YOU got this.

3.Try meditating. This actually works. When you start to feel anxiety build about something, it’s time to take a step back and take some deep breaths. Meditation will help calm your mind and nerves and will also give you a chance to put things into perspective. We’re often fearful when things seem to grow into something bigger than life. Five minutes of meditation will help you focus on what matters, which is not the fear but rather taking a calm, collected approach to whatever comes your way.

4.Just face the situation, head on. Sometimes this is the easiest way to get through something by literally doing what you have to do, even if you feel afraid. Even though some things are scary, sometimes you simply have to go for it. Let’s say you have a fear of flying, but you have to fly to another city on a trip for work. You have to do it, right? Just hold your head high, walk onto that airplane, take a deep breath – and go for it. Remember that you can do anything you put your mind to, even if that means facing a big fear.

Fear is something that can become debilitating for many people, but in some cases you can face it and get past it – and, you’ll be so proud of yourself in the end. Have you had to face a fear? How did you find the courage to get through it?
